PM Modi’s First Decision in Third Term: Release of ‘Kisan Nidhi’ Fund

New Delhi, Jun 10 – On his first day back in office for a record-equalling third term, Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed his first official file authorizing the release of the 17th installment of the ‘PM Kisan Nidhi’ funds, amounting to nearly Rs 20,000 crore. This move is set to benefit around 9.3 crore farmers across the country.

After signing the document, Modi emphasized the government’s unwavering dedication to ‘kisan kalyan’ (farmers’ welfare). He stated, “Ours is a government fully committed to farmers’ welfare. It is, therefore, fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to it. We want to keep working even more for farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come.”

This decision highlights the government’s continued focus on supporting the agricultural sector and addressing the needs of farmers, especially in the wake of the National Democratic Alliance’s recent electoral victory, which saw some setbacks in rural areas.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in for his third consecutive term on Sunday, leading a 72-member Union Council of Ministers. This significant step reaffirms his administration’s commitment to the welfare of farmers and the development of the agriculture sector.
