To fortify last-mile service delivery in remote areas, the District Administration of Kupwara has inaugurated three new Common Service Centres (CSCs) in the Block Keran. This initiative, launched on [insert date], aims to empower local communities by providing easier access to essential government resources.
The Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara conducted a virtual inauguration of these CSCs and interacted with the respective Village Level Entrepreneurs. Located in Gram Panchayats Mundiyan-A, Mundiyan, and Pathroo, these centres will enable residents to conveniently access government schemes, digital services, and welfare programmes, all from their doorsteps.
This establishment followed a comprehensive ground-level assessment by a dedicated team, which aimed to identify gaps in existing services. The centres were set up with assistance from CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, a move that underscores the administration’s commitment to digital inclusion.
These Common Service Centres promise to deliver an array of e-governance services, including essential public utility services, social welfare schemes, financial inclusion initiatives, healthcare, and agriculture services. Additionally, they will enhance business-to-consumer (B2C) interactions, thereby playing a crucial role in bridging the digital literacy gap in these far-flung regions.
In alignment with the broader vision of holistic development for border villages, the establishment of these CSCs significantly reduces the travel time previously necessary for accessing basic services. This initiative brings governance closer to residents, fostering a more responsive administration.
Local residents have expressed gratitude for the efforts of the District Administration in extending digital services to border regions. The District Administration reiterated its commitment to “Governance at the Doorstep,” signalling ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery across the district’s remote areas, ensuring that every citizen benefits from government initiatives.
