In a notable early morning tour on Wednesday, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited various locations in Srinagar to inspect development projects aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure and public facilities.
The chief minister’s office reported on X that this comprehensive tour focused on assessing public services and the progress of key civic works that affect the daily lives of residents. Abdullah’s proactive approach underscores his administration’s commitment to improving urban living standards.

During the inspection, the CM reviewed several significant sites. One of the highlights was the proposed bridge at Barbar Shah. This infrastructural addition aims to alleviate traffic congestion and streamline transit for commuters heading into Shehar-e-Khaas.
The chief minister’s office emphasized, “Once completed, the bridge will play a vital role in reducing traffic congestion for commuters heading into Shehar-e-Khaas, ensuring smoother transit and improved urban mobility.”
In addition to the bridge, Abdullah examined the new building of the Maharaj Gunj Urban Primary Health Centre. This upgraded facility integrates modern healthcare standards with the area’s historical charm, enhancing patient care within one of the city’s busiest neighborhoods.
Officials described the health centre’s modernization as a significant improvement crucial for healthcare delivery in the heart of ‘Shehar-e-Khaas’. This development reflects the government’s efforts to revitalize public health infrastructure at a time when the community’s needs are evolving.
Accompanying the chief minister were Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, several ministers, local MLAs, CM’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, and senior administrative officials. Their presence signaled a unified government approach to urban development.
